Scorers: 34′ Shylon Galdes, 55′ Miguel Zammit, 69′ Alken Desira
Fgura United were in command for most of the time in the Under 19 clash with Msida SJ and the final score line should have been broader although the Saints created some chances as well. Msida’s keeper was first tested from a Stivala free kick which he saved on the 12th minute and instants later he had to save again an Owen Azzopardi try. On the 17th minute a thunderous Jake Bezzina shot hit the crossbar and upon the half hour the goalie thwarted Sven Tonna’s effort after he managed to find a way through a thick defensive wall. Again Tonna tried his luck minutes later but was foiled by the keeper once more. Our lads managed to open the account on the 34th minute after a typical Stivala run down the flank who passed to Owen Galea which after some precise footwork crossed on the second post for Shylon Galdes to fire home. Just before the break Stivala once again was the provider for Owen Azzopardi to hit the underneath of the bar from close range, the ball bouncing on the fatal line before cleared away to safety. The game continued on the same plot after the break and Stivala again saw his attempt turned to a corner by the keeper. However, the extreme defender was left helpless when Miguel Zammit let fly a missile of a shot which ended at the far top corner for the magic moment of the night. The margin could have been widened instants later but Owen Galea after rounding the keeper saw the ball cleared off the line to safety. Bartolo in goal was first troubled on the hour mark when he had to save an angled shot. On the 68th minute United were awarded a penalty for a foul on Zammit with skipper Desira converting from the spot. With the game practically archived, Bartolo lost possession but Msida’s chance went begging as they missed an easy target. Towards the end Stivala served Desira who concluded just over whilst at the other end Bartolo saved to a corner on a Msida break.
