Fgura left the pitch empty handed against Marsa despite putting on display one of their best games of the season. After 18 minutes play, Dylan Caruana opened on Quintero whose shot was met by Prudente who concluded wide on the volley. A deflected cross, was met by Prudente who feebly headed towards goal, allowing the keeper to save. Fgura maintained the pressure and on the 33 minute another good combination play, between Quintero, Jeremy Micallef and Caruana ended with the keeper saving on the first post the latter’s attempt. Marsa came close in the 52nd minute when a headed ball skimmed the top part of the bar. Two minutes later a Jeremy Micallef incursion into the box were he was fouled with the referee pointing to the spot. Prudente took the responsibility of the kick, managing to score despite the keeper managing to partially save. On the 62nd minute another flowing move by our lads involving Quintero, Matthew Brincat and Thomas Grech with the latter’s shot being saved by the keeper. Caruana had two other good attempts at goal, the first going high and the second being saved by the keeper. This was on the 80th minute. One minute later, Marsa drew level after a nice move which ended with a placed shot from well within our penalty box. Keeper had to save a central header but was beaten instants later when following a confusion in front of goal, Marsa managed to poke in the winning goal.
